Awards Won 2015

  • SWAGEN won the 2015 award Collaborative Partnership on Forests. Given in recognition of outstanding efforts to improve and sustain forests, the award was established in 2012 by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF), which is chaired by FAO. Click to Read More..Its name honours the memory of Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan environmentalist and the first African woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.
  • Each year, The ONE Africa Award celebrates and highlights innovation and progress made by African led civil society organisations. Click Me .. The 2015 Award was given to SWAGEN to further the fantastic work they do in advocacy, natural resource management to eradicate hunger and extreme poverty among  grassroots women in forest-edge communities.

  • SWAGEN was one of the 100 most innovative solutions from around the world who won the prize awarded by the French Ministry of Environment of France in 2016. Continuing the momentum of COP 21, “100 projects for climate” aims to speed up the emergence of citizen-led initiatives to combat global warming.
