Program Areas

Our Program is holistic and interconnected in nature. We address Gender Equality, Solid waste management in slum areas for WASH, food security and nutrition security access and governance, climate change adaptation and mitigation.

We feed into realisation of SDG 1: End Hunger in all its forms everywhere, SDG2: End hunger and achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture SDG3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, SDG5: Achieve Gender Equality and empower all women and girls, SDG13:  Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, SDG15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. 

We do this by advocating for favourable gender responsive policies and implementation of projects in:

Gender Justice through economic, development and climate justice
SWAGEN believes that Women’s rights to access, control and own productive resources individually are unequivocal. The organization mobilises grassroots women to challenge structural, institutional and socio–cultural barriers that hinder women from this pursuit.
